--almost like that was the whole point
--seraphine left her bag at the bar
she got home and thought, must not be far
i havent been many places today
she went to sleep, she thought, it can’t be lost, there’s no way

when she awoke the next morning
she thought, bag lost, boring

but the bag was found
by a mouse (quite round, he had a tummy)

she set out in search of him
and won it back in a round of gin rummy

she thought, well what a way to pass the day
he had an array
of lost items to offer
a coffer, within which was her bag

but seraphine opted for a locket
deciding against her bag and a literal rocket
what a choice

the locket was beautiful
picking at her cuticle
a tough choice

but claw bleading and locket in hand
she walked home
passed a band
of pigeons

said hi
and went home
